I don't know if you could find a picture to use...but what about a girl floating on a floaty thing in water (don't you love my description?) in the water, in her robe/hair under a tower, cute slippers, either holding nail polish or getting her nails done..and in the water below her you see random under-the-sea creatures?
or focus on spa treatments that involve sea items if you're going to go with the treatment handout focus...dead sea salt spa treatment, something along those lines? I'm not all that creative! I'm better making the idea come to fruition once it's there :P
that's SUCH a cute idea marlew...thank you so much! now to find a picture of a girl like that...hah. if only i could draw.
i still welcome other ideas from people...thanks everyone, keep em comin :)
You could always do cute cartoons of sea creatures at the spa. I know I've seen a few on pamphlets and things for a local spa that has a little "seaweed service section" so they exist... Just not sure where to find them. Good luck! It sounds like a great combo!
This just screams mermaid to me! Aren't mermaids beautiful and pampered and gorgeous? Like Ariel? You could swing it that way and probably find a lot of online artwork to go with...
OR
What about that famous painting of the woman standing in a clamshell naked? (The Birth of Venus)
You could play pin the wedding dress on the goddess??
Oooh, what about sea creatures wearing mud masks, robes and makeup? Like seahorses, fish, starfish, crabs, etc!
Oh, I love @LaborOfLove's idea - I think it'd be adorable if you combined the sea creatures with a mermaid that looks like your friend, especially if the illustration was rendered in a slightly cutesy/storybook style and then watercoloured. Super cute!
I got the immediate picture of getting a massage on the beach. lol. I don't know how to explain it, but I found a couple pictures.

I dunno... kind of a "Pampering in Paradise" thing.

Hi ladies! I am helping organize my friend's bridal shower and it appears there are two sorts of themes in the mix...so I'm hoping for ideas on how to combine these!
The bride's FMIL is hosting at her house and wants to do an under the sea theme with the food (since the wedding will be by the water in Maine), but the bride has asked that the shower be "pretty and pampered" theme (i.e., gifts for her, not like kitchen appliances).
SOOO -- any cute ideas on how to best combine these two themes when making invitations? I was thinking of doing the invitation as a mock spa treatment handout (but customized to the bride etc.) but don't know how I'd incorporate the under the sea theme.
Any ideas on the invitations or anything else would be awesome...thanks ladies!
