We havent gotten a couples massage but we work at a resort that does them all the time and there really nice. FI and I have been massaged by both men and women and he likes the guys since they can actually work harder and he feels it. Be comfortable I always make sure to be showered and I go in nude but many women wear panties (no bra).

How awesome! I love couples massages. Don’t be nervous! This is their job–they’re used to seeing all different types of people just like a doctor or physical therapist would.

The gender doesn’t really matter; it just depends on what you’re most comfortable with. My husband has been massaged by both men and women and he actually preferred the man because he felt the hands were stronger. I have only been massaged by women, but want to try a man next time (lol). If you are comfortable with a female, go with a female. I would have been uncomfortable with a man at first, but now that I’ve had a few I understand more that there’s no reason to be nervous. I do always leave my panties on (but bra off).

Like the PP said, shower–and don’t forget to shave! If you are getting a full body massage they will rub your legs and you don’t want to feel stubbly 🙂

I’m a licensed massage therapist and I can guarantee there’s no need to be nervous! You don’t even have to shave if you don’t want to! Us MTs work on all times of men and women so nothing really phases us. (At least not me :]) Make sure you’re open with your therapist and let them know if there are areas you’d like extra time spent on or areas you don’t want worked. Most people leave on just their underwear but you’ll be draped with a sheet the whole time so feel free to take everything off.

As far as having a male or female work on you, it’s whatever you’re comfortable with. People seem to think that male MTs can work “harder” but that isn’t really true. Massage isn’t just about having strong hands, it’s about using your body weight behind the stroke to make them deeper as well as using the forearm, elbow, fist, etc to add deeper pressure on specific areas.

Definitely ask your MT any questions you have. Their job is to make you feel comfortable and relaxed! Also, let them know if the pressure is ever too much or not enough. Don’t be afraid to speak up!! I hope you enjoy your massage! Let me know if you have other questions. :]

@hollyberry4:  DH and I got a couples’ massage once.  It was heaven!  There was a male and a female.  We didn’t pick who got who, but I got the male and DH got the female.  It was fine.  Not uncomfortable in any way!  We were both super happy at the end.
