So I had a friend of the family videotape our wedding using my uncle’s HD DVD video recorder. I got the file onto my computer in some weird format, but I have a program that can convert it to a number of different easily-readable formats and now I can watch in on my cpu, and I even figured out how to save it as a flash file, and upload it to an online video hosting site so that I can stream the video from our website for any of the 2 people who may want to watch it.
Now, I need to find a way to burn the video onto a DVD so that I will be able to watch it on our DVD player. I need help finding a program (preferably free) that will allow me to burn a video from some format (ideally mpg4, but others as well) onto a DVD. Ideally this program would also allow me to make chapters where I want them as well.

Do you know anyone that has a Mac you could borrow? My Mac has iMovie and iDVD which make it super simple to edit a movie/add music/add words and then send it to iDVD where you can make menus and chapters.
I’m not sure about programs for PC’s though.

Thanks so much for that suggestion!! My Hubby has a mac with those programs on it (which he has never used!), so I will try that tomorrow.
Any suggestions for PC?

I used anyvideoconverter.com at my last job. It’s a free program, and it has a really nice interface. Well, it’s not flashy or even pretty, but it functions on a drag-and-drop basis that makes it really simple.

used iDVD…and it worked great. So cool how it formats it like a legit DVD! I even included 3 different slideshows (engagement shoot, wedding photos, and photobooth pictures) as “bonus features”. Will mail them out to fam this week & I know my mom will love it!
