@katyperry:  Welcome to the hive and congratulations on your engagement! 🙂

You can always wonder into a jeweler and get your ringsize taken. I ended up surprised as my fingers were way smaller than I had thought! I am a 5 and I had wrongly assumed that I was a 7… That’s what happens when one tries a ring size chart printed from the internet and is too clumpsy…

There are some iPhone Apps where one can “try” on different carat sized Diamond rings… I think Tiffany’s has one… Hope this helps a little!

@katyperry:  I just got engaged Saturday. FI presented me with a 1.72 carat cushion cut center stone with a halo. My stone is more rectangular as we wanted something to elongate my fingers. the dimensions of my stone are 7.69×6.49×4.5. The stones in the halo are .01 carat each. My ring is size 6 but my finger is probably more like a 5.5… I have large knuckles so wee had to size up but it rolls easily on my finger. Unfortunately cushions far up smaller per carat that say a round brilliant. Hope these photos give you some idea even though it’s larger than what you were looking for!

@katyperry:  go to diamdb.com you can put in ct size and shape and your finger size and get an approx guess/picture of what that size will look like! It’s not perfect, but it definitely helps! It also helped me when I was looking at two specific diamonds that were slightly different size.. It will tell you how much more surface area/finger coverage one has over the other. So it makes it easy to decide Hmm.. Should we spend $1000 more for 6% more surface area? Etc 🙂

@katyperry:

I just just got engaged last week. My ring is Ritani. The center is 1.01 Cushion Halo, in a .50 ct cushion halo setting. The ring is a size 4.5, but my actual finger size is a 4. Please let me know if I can help with anything and have fun shopping!

Size 6.25 finger, tcwt of my ring is 0.79, the centre stone is a princess cut 0.5ct stone.

Covers my finger better than a 1.2ct brilliant/round cut (see bottom pic)

@katyperry:  I love your username! Haha but I might be a bit biased 😉 mine is a. 8 round center stone, H,Vs2, triple ex in a. 50 ct verragio setting. I’m a 6-6.5, but the ring is a 7.5. It needs to be resized badly.

@katyperry:  the center stone is G in color but I’m not sure about the pave stones. I gave FI input on what I liked and we tried on several settings but he picked everything in the end, including the center stone. All I told himmwas that I wanted a cushion cut. He did well picking it out 🙂
