I designed my dream wedding dress. The designer I worked with did an AMAZING job & it is nothing short of everything I specified in the 97+ pages I sent her. In order for my dress to work, it needs a petticoat, Not just any petticoat. Yes, I need it for fullness, but I also need a custom job for the lace & ruffles that will show when I lift the sdjusters on the front & sodes of my dress. I also needed a detachable eggplant train for the petticoat that would float under my train & flash when I moved. I paid a woman almost $500 to do this & have it to me by August 15. My wedding is September 7 & I needed fittings. She agreed & it said on her poicies that she send everything first class mail. Well, she didn’t. And I live on Maui, She sent it standard mail & it is now on a boat somewhere on the Pacific, and it is August 15.
I cannot find ANYONE who can make what she made, or anything like it, in the amount of time I have. I also don’t want to spend another $500 (actually it would be $1200 since I need it so fast) in case it does arrive, then I am stuckk with two petticoats! My dress DOES NOT WORK without this petticoat & the woman will NOT help me. I am doing ALL the owrk calling USPS & tracking this package. Our agrement was for August 15 & she failed to do that, so what do I do?
I know I can get my money back, but I would rather have the petticoat & I just don’t know what to do! I can’t think of an alternative. I have looked EVERYWHERE for a lacey, ruffled A-line petticoat. I would even nix the train if I had to. It only has to be visually pleasing in the front (below the knees) & the sides. The rest can be a ball of tulle for all I care. Oh, & in case you haven’t guessed by now it’s a steampunk wedding dress.
I worked so hard to have the dress of my dreams & it is not complete without this petticoat. The woman is acting like she has done no wrong & will barely respond to my messages! If we had a written contract that stated she would get this petticoat to me by August 15, & it did not arrive (because she did not send first class, she sent standard post – who would send a $500 petticoat so close to the wedding standard post, I don’t know, but she did!) what can I do. Should I issue a chargeback on my credit card? They tell me once it’s on the boat it takes 2-6 weeks to arrive. It got on the boat on August 1. UGH
