Oh Blue Window Creative for sure. The other pics are fine, but those seem to capture more emotion, I think.

Hmm…it’s a tough call. Sarah Maren has beautiful shots and I think actually shows the wedding better–you have more shots of the bride and groom full on pictures of the family, etc., but the post-processing on all of them looks the same. They all have that faded, washed out, vintage-y look. Blue Window Creative seems to have better post-processing (I think that’s what it is) so that the colors are more vivid and the pictures are richer. However, Blue Window Creative is almost TOO artsy for my taste. There aren’t very many “traditional” pictures of the bridal party, parents of the bride and groom, etc. And some of the pictures, like the ones showing just the bride’s eyes, seem to almost be trying too hard to be artistic.

So really, I wish I could combine Sarah Maren’s shooting style with Blue Window Creative’s post processing style! 🙂 It’s a tough choice.

as a photographer….just between the two – no doubt I vote for Blue Window. I agree with the point about them needing to show a bit more in the way of “traditional” shots…anytime a photog is going to do an extensive highlight I think I would toss in a few of those. Other than that…it’s no contest for me. Blue Window handles the lighting situations so much better – and the post processing isn’t excessive. Maren definitely uses the same post technique way too much in my opinion. Blue Window has a better eye for capturing the “decisive moment” too…although they do (or at least are mostly showing) a lot of really tight crops. As far as experience as a photographer I’m betting Blue Window handles it way better.

Blue Window hands down in my opinion.  I’ve found the photographers will make sure to take specific people or groups if you give them a list. I think they like to show the more artistic pictures on their web sites, but if you look at complete weddings, they will probably have some more traditional group shots. It’s defintiely something to discuss when you meet with them. I think their photos are AMAZING!!!

Honestly, I like sarah maren better. Her recent work is amazing, and I still like a somewhat  traditional style. If you like artsy and tight crops, then bluewindow. And, definitely book early. I’m booking Maren for 2011 too (crosses fingers). So, it’s nevery too early! My top choice for a wedding coodinator is already booked for my 2011 date, so now I’m regretting not booking it earlier. And, since you have a very popular date, I hope you’ve already chosen! I know maren was completely booked in 2009, (she’s on maternity leave this summer, which you may know)  so I’m expecting her to fill up quickly again in 2011. Her recent blog posts are just gorgeous to me! 🙂 Best wishes to you fellow 2011 bride 🙂
