futuremrsJR:  You have two polar opposite choices. One, the tuxedo, is very formal. The other, the groomsmen without jackets, is very casual.

The bridesmaids dresses in your pic are rather dressy, even if they are short. If they wear dressy heels, they will be a distinct contrast to the groomsmen, in their very casual outfits.

Is there room in your plan for a compromise? The groomsmen could wear suits instead of tuxedo.

futuremrsJR:  When is your wedding? That is a very summery look.

futuremrsJR:  People may be voting for the tux because a tan suit isn’t something that a lot of men are going to get much wear out of.

They could wear the pieces separately though.

This is the time of year for your men to be buying their suits if you want beige and the wedding is next year. Light color suits are on sale now.

At J Crew they can get a jacket and pants in Chino for $188. (same color of course)

    1. What the groom wants.  2. Don’t combine beige/tan and black within the men’s outfits.  3. If it’s day time, don’t do Tuxedos.

futuremrsJR:  We are getting married August 2015 and my FI really fell in love with this tan/beige suit from Joseph A. Bank.  I think such a look would be great for your summer wedding as well the following month and would compliment your bridesmaids nicely. I also agree with another poster that said not to mix beige with black. I would stick with your creams, browns, champagnes, beiges, taupes, etc. but not black ties or suspenders on a beige suit. Its so bold on a soft color that I think it may take away from the overall look.

futuremrsJR:  And yes! julies1949: was right that light colored suits are on sale now.  That suit from Jos. A. Bank was originally almost $700 marked down to under $200! Definitely worth it! 2015 is right around the corner!

futuremrsJR:  Oops! The suit I posted before is Jos A Bank’s Havana Destination Tuxedo. The Tropical Blend suit that we got on sale is below and we are going to find a Champagne vest to match like what is shown in the Havana Destination piece.
