It looks great! But, I honestly would think that that it was as wedding band.  Since your wedding is do far away maybe this matters? I dunno…

It definitely looks like your married and that’s a wedding band. Maybe wear it on top and then have your wedding band be the bottom one?

I think you should do the engagement ring solo and add both bands when you get married. I too would think you were married if I saw the wedding band, but it doesn’t really matter what other’s think does it? πŸ™‚ I would just get tired of answering the question. Lol! Are you opposed to just the solitare for the time being?  The sentimental value is irreplacable! Love the wedding band BTW! GORGEOUS! πŸ˜€

That setting is so pretty!

When you say you want “the same band for the other side”, do you mean to sandwich the solitaire? It definitely, no questions, looks like a wedding band and that you’re already married. I’m a little confused… why not get the wedding band and wear it just as a wedding band once you’re married? Plus, if you want to pass the three-rings as a set down to your children, they might be confused by the idea of an “engagement set” as well…

It is very nice.  It looks like you are married, but I think you should wear it however makes you happy.

The sandwich look // final product will look AMAZING!!!!!!  I think the whole 3-ring set you have will be absolutely stunning.

If there’s any comment, I agree with @gingersnap’s suggestion.  Your wedding ring, always, is the closest to your heart.  (in a traditional set with just 2 rings, the wedding band goes on first, then the engagement ring).  So my only suggestion is to switch the two rings you have on now — and then on wedding day, have FI add a third ring, closest to your heart.

love the set but I would keep just the solitaire until the wedding or put the band on the other side so it looks less like you are already married (unless you just want to wear it!)

as far as anyone caring that you bought the diamond, first off its not really anyones business to know how you financed the ring but if they do know and you feel pressure just remind them or yourself that in just a little while all your money and all of his money will be shared with each other anyway πŸ˜‰ so in a way its a purchase from both of you

Either way it looks awesome…

You don’t have to explain to anyone anyway! Wear them in good health!

i would wear the solataie as your engagement ring and get the two bands as wedding rings to avoid answering annoying questions.

I see your point about using a ring you’ve already been wearing as an engagement ring, would any of these work for you?

– If you fiance upgraded the stone?

– Can the setting be altered to include side diamonds or a halo which he could give you as his engagement gift?

– He could get you another piece of engagement jewelery seeing as you already have the ring you your dreams (necklace, bracelet, right hand ring?)

If not then I’d just tell people its your engagment ring and leave it at that, they don’t need to know who paid for it and even if people notice you’ve been wearing it they should be polite enough not to quiz you about it.

I actually did the exact same thing. I had almost the same band soldered to my three stone engagement ring and then purchased the same band to be used as the wedding band. I liked how it thickened up the ring on my long fingers and out of all the people that saw it, the only person that ever mentioned that it looked like it was a wedding set already was my mom. They sure had a lot of other comments though and I wasn’t in love with it so I’ve now got a different ring but I never regretted adding the two bands to that ring. If it’s what you like by all means do it!
