Hello Bees! Now that we are a less than 6 months out and I’ve been thinking about reception venue decorations.
We have decided to not decorate the church for our ceremony at all, so that was easy!
But our reception venue is a resturaunt with multiple rooms (we have rented the whole thing) that are all decorated differently.
I love how each room is decoarted and don’t mind the patterns, but it’s hard to figure out decorations! Each room has very loud patterned wallpaper and is all different colors. Some are toile, one is a complete mural or the area, and the others are bold patterns as well. What kind of decorations will complement the already existing decorations?
We would like to use some flowers, so I am thinking of babysbreath and all white arrangements so nothing clashes?
Here are a few pictures of the venue:
These centerpieces are included in our rental so we could use them if we’d like, but we don’t have to:
Blah! This is the only room that I dislike! I think I’ll make this the room for the kiddos 😉
Also- suggestions about what to do with those lovely mantles would be appreciated! I think there are 3 if I remember correctly!

Do you have a color scheme that you would prefer?
White, as you suggested would certainly work in all the rooms.
The challenge is that the rooms are all colonial but all so different. Being the frugal decorator that I am, I would use their centerpieces as a starting point. I would change out the candles and the florals at the bottom so each room had a unique centerpiece suited to the room.
The Tavern dining room is rustic-you could use the hurricane vase and candle on top of a wooden charger plate, with something like nuts or cranberries around the candle.
The Potomac Dining Rom is more elegant. One idea would be to adhere the pillar candle to the bottom of the centerpiece with florist putty, then add water and floating pale pink flowers. Use their floral base or add some babies breath to it.
For the lafayette room I would use the vase with a pillar candle and add hydrangeas in floral picks to their floral bases or use silk flowers- use more blue and lavender hydrangeas
For the Betsy Ross Room- depending on the age of the kids and whether or not there wll be any adults in the room, I would do something more whimsical. If the kids are older and you think the vases would be safe
If the kids are younger and the glass vase would be at risk
I would use the mantels to diplay wedding pics of the parentst and other close relatives, or pics of the two of you as children. I would add in a small arrangement using whatever flower was used in the room.

thanks for the suggestions!
there is another room or two, but i like the idea of using their base and building on it for each room!
