Can you put floating candles in the pool? Also, I think in the movie Steel Magnolias there was a pool at the reception and they floated magnolias in the water. Very pretty! Good Luck!
So at first I immediately thought of something like this.

But then I saw this and thought it could look awesome!

Quick google revealed this:

I especially like the floating balls at save on crafts.
floating candles! Also, why not stick some lights inside those giant 2' and 3' balloons and put those in the pool? i bet it would look fab!
how about colored underwater lights?
Or rubber duckies in your wedding colors. :)
This is probably really expensive, but you could always hire a lighting company to create a monogram gobo lit on your pool.
Wow. Some of those pics are crazy cool. Way out of the budget but would be AMAZING.
I really like the floating candle idea. My DH did that in our pool when he proposed to me and was really stunning. And not that pricey.
Oh my gosh! These are so beautiful now I want a pool at my reception too!!! LOL!
Awesome pictures! I saw silk water lilies with foam underneath so that they can float at Moskatel's (I think it's owned by Micheal's) and I thought they would look so nice with floating candles in a pool.
Floating bouquet rafts also work well. Especially in the tropics!
Have a great wedding!
This is the thread I was looking for...definitely watching this thread, looking for inexpensive ideas to decorate a pool at my venue.
The little flower things work well. My parents have some for their pool. I love pools at receptions!! What fun! Defintely do candles...they will reflect off of the water! So pretty!!!
I think Floating candles would look really romantic. Underwater lights would be beautiful too. Maybe underwater lights with flowers floating. I love these ideas. Makes me wish my venue had a pool to decorate, although it would be frozen because of the time of year we're tying the knot.
@StacyF: here are some great pics; http://chezwedd.com/wedding-design-pomanders/

This site said they used large styrofoam balls cut in half

I went to one with balloon floating in the pool with the led lights in the baloon so they were lit up. that was really pretty. Also I think if you put candles floating in the pool somhow that would be really pretty as well.

There is a large pool next to our reception site. We're going to place candles around the pool. But does anyone have any other ideas for decorating the area? Maybe something to float in the pool?
Thanks, lades!
