(Closed) Help! do I need escort cards and a seating chart?

@heatherjo728: I don’t think you need both… we are doing both because we are using Swahili wedding words as the table names (my fiance is Kenyan) and I know that no one is going to remember the names of the tables but I have been to lots of weddings that just had something printed and framed with the table numbers on it and it worked just fine.

I am having a seating chart and place cards (simply to indicate meal choice). I think that you would be fine with only the seating chart.

You don’t need both. We’re only doing escort cards with no seating chart on display. If we make a chart, it will be for our/venue reference only.

I don’t think most people do a seating chart…. An escort card is to tell people what table to sit, and then a place card is placed at the exact seat you want them sitting at (if at all). A drawn seating chart is usually done by the bride to figure out where to put people. But you don’t need to draw one out, unless you want to be creative about how you do your escort cards!

At least, that’s my understanding…

Nope, just choose one or the other.  It’s completely a matter of preferece.  Both work equally well.
