Why did it take them an entire month to place the order?

I would search for another dress, and I would not do business at that store.  Did you pay a deposit?  Get it back.

2 sizes too small is scary! I say keep looking. I’m sure you can find something just as lovely that’s available in your size! If the dress was too BIG, it’d be different (much easier to take in than let out!)

@FutureMrsT2013:  Seriously, why did they wait to order the dress?  This sounds like THEIR mistake and THEIR job to work their asses off to find your dress somewhere!!!

Have you checked online?  Ebay? Recycledbride? Preownedweddingdresses.com? Weddingbee Classifieds? Post the dress, and I am sure there is a Bee on here who can find it for you.

They must refund you your deposit! Don’t take no for an answer. I would look around for the same dress elsewhere — maybe a used one? Either that or keep shopping. I wouldn’t buy a dress 2 sizes too small.

I would go to the store and atleast look around, you never know.  They say things happen for a reason, and if you don’t find anything look to buy the original dress somewhere else–maybe you can get store credit for a veil/shoes ect.

I’m not really familiar with the stone weight system, but google says that’s like 42 pounds.  That’s a lot of pressure to put on yourself!!!  I’d check around for new dresses and politely as possible give the dress shop people a piece of your mind.  Why did it take them a MONTH to tell you!?!?!?  That’s crazy!  That’s usually something you find out the minute you call in the order… not something they figure out a month later.   I’m so sorry!!

I wouldn’t order the dress in a smaller size because there’s no definitive way for you to know you’ll lose the weight in time. Look around for other dresses- the one in the picture is certainly beautiful, but you can definitely find a dress just as beautiful (if not moreso!).

Hmm. After a mistake like that, they should offer more than 20%
