I go to a school where people voted against wearing gowns and caps for graduation so people wear what ever they want. Previously this has meant anything from formal to sandals and jeans… apparently with a tradition of costumes and creative nudity.
I have no idea what to wear. My parents are flying down for my grad and will be bummed out that its so weird and informal. Therefore I want to wear something classy but still a bit unique. I will also be taking pictures in this outfit, traditional style, seated with a diploma, academic background, etc.
This is a dress I have found so far that I like because its simple but kinda unique and it fits my body shape. Its a lot longer on me because Im not as tall as the model, so its about knee length.
Do you think its apropriate? Is it boring? What would you wear with it (shoes ,accessories, shoes, sweater?) Can I jazz it up? How should I do my hair? Any other suggestions would be appreciated, for what to wear or anything.
FYI, I am average height, curvy but slim. My hair is longish and white. Thanks so much!

That dress is awesome! I think you should consider rocking red lips with it 🙂

You could definitly rock it with an awesome chunky bracelet and earrings!

I really like that dress! It’s very classy.
I’d wear your hair like the model: Down, but not overly curly. I like the relaxed look.
Also, you could accent with just about any color to jazz it up. Maybe a red or teal colored bracelet and matching earrings?

is the top gray or white ?
gray- i would add yellow to it. something yellow in your hair & yellow shoes ?
white- i would add something pink. same thing, pink hair clip & pink shoes ?
just come ideas. hair up ?

the top is an off-white. It looks a lot more grey in the pictures.
I like the idea of adding a pop of colour, maybe teal shoes? I also like the red lipstick, but that would probably clash…

I like the dress very much. And it strikes a nice balance of informal and yet still feels like an occasion. And, I think you’ll wear it again, so it’s a nice investment.
Just please, please do not wear ridiculously high heels or anything. It’s depressing year after year to see girls tottering around in the grass and across the stage. My mentor confessed to me once that she now entertains herself during long graduations by mentally speculating on which girls are going to fall over.

I think that it looks like a great choice!

I like the dress as well! Is the back/butt area also scrunched? If it were smooth I’d reconsider it for myself, but you may have a cuter butt than me.
It didn’t realy matter what I wore because I had the gown on the whole time for all my photos. I kind of wish I didn’t wear a suit jacket underneath because I was so hot!
I wore sensible heels because there was a 1/2 mile parade involved with entiering the ceremony location. I could not imagine walking very far in heels, but some ladies can do it!
