Okay, those of you who have navigated the world of dress shopping, I need your help. You know how they say “if you try on too many, you’ll confuse yourself”? Well, I have gotten to that point. There have been a few dresses that I’ve really liked but none I’ve been in love with, so I kept shopping.
I will say that I’m more of a logical, calculating person rather than a “cry when I find the one” type. Maybe I just don’t feel like a bride so I can’t picture myself getting married in any of these? At this point I’ve tried on about 40 dresses… and none look special anymore. Not in the store, not on websites, not on me.
Anyone else been in this position? Can you give me some sage advice for resetting my search?

I got to that same point but I probably tried on over 150 dresses! I would take a break from dress shopping or even looking at dresses online for a few weeks if you can just to let your mind reset then start fresh go into a store with new perspective and try on things you normally wouldn’t! If you like mermaid try on ball gown vise versa. Just try on different styles and youslight surprise yourself 🙂 good luck!

Omg! This is happening to me too. I’ve been to 6 stores and find dresses that I really like, but nothing that I am totally in love with. They all look so pretty that I haven’t been able to find the ONE dress. I think I will know I have found the one, when there is not one thing I would change about it. I’m currently on my second break and will try again in July. Starting fresh is a good idea. If you find a good consultant, they should be able to find something that compliments your body shape is fits with your style of wedding.

Thanks for the advice. I think it’d be good to step away, but I’m just so anxious to find my dress!

That happened to me. I went to three different stores, tried 40-50 dresses, and just wasn’t getting ‘that feeling’. I was getting really depressed and started to feel like I might never find it. So I took a week off, then went to a store all by myself (seriously! Didn’t bring my mom or MOH). It felt so relaxing to go alone, because I didn’t feel the pressure to pick one. The best thing I did was pick a couple dresses completely different from what I had been trying, and I found it. It just felt right, and I wasn’t relying on other’s reactions. So don’t worry…you’ll find the perfect one!
