So I have a .68 carat solitare e-ring. I’m trying to decide on a wedding band and I’m not sure what to get. We’re on a budget, so I’m considering overstock (any other suggestions?)…
My current options are
1/2 carat prong set half eternity
3/4 carat prong set full eternity band
3/4 carat prong set half eternity band
I have large fingers so I’m seriously considering the 3/4 carat half eternity band, but I’m worried it will be too large relative to my solitare. On the other hand there’s a chance that we’ll upgrade my solitare in the years to come so I’m not sure what to do.

Have you tried on bands with your e-ring?

I have, but only up to a .5 carat semi-eternity or full eternity. My Fiance thought it looked just right to possibly a bit too large, but I’m drawn to the bling, so I’m not sure. The width of both the bands are the same.

It would help us more if you posted pictures for comparison, with rings side by side. It’s hard to know just by the numbers, you know?

If you like the bigger look, then go for it. I would go with the smaller one personally, because by comparison my e-ring would look more proportional.

I would go for the 3/4 half eternity band. I just bought a half eternity band (love it!) and the ct. weight of my engagement ring is less than the band. But I personally loved the look of the bling.

I suggest going to Blue Nile vs. Overstock to buy your ring. You can pick the quality of the diamonds, etc. and you get them at a good price.

My solitare is slightly larger than your (.75), and I went with a half carat half eternity band. Here is a pic of what it looks like:

Thanks for the suggestions. I ended up purchasing the 3/4 carat, pictured below (sorry for the poor pic). Obviously I would need to get my engagement ring resized, but it is also a bit taller than the e-ring.
So now I’m trying to decide if I want to keep it or go with two .25 carat semi-eternity bands on either side so that it looks less discrepant height wise.
