So, I’m FREAKING OUT!!!! Our wedding is October 16th… that’s 95 DAYS away!!! For the life of me I CANNOT make decisions on how to DECORATE!!!!! The only thing I know is I have 12 ostrich feather center pieces (30 tables)… were draping the walls with deep purple satin… were having a lounge with white furniture… I like black linens…. and the bridesmaid dresses are Priscilla of Boston Mulberry…. THAT’S IT!!!!! That is ALLLLL I KNOW?!!?!?!? How in the heck did everyone decide on everything?!?! I feel like I have 900 ideas that don’t fit together?!!? AHHH!!!!!

That strikes me as a lot! You have the linens. You have half of the centerpieces. You have some pretty sophisticated decor going on, like draping the walls in satin and a lounge. So, it sounds like you need ideas for the other half of the centerpieces (maybe something white to match the lounge?). What else needs decor?

I feel your pain. My wedding is October 10th. To me it sounds like you have all the BIG things figured out, which are the most important (centerpieces, furniture, linens). Do you have a wedding coordinator or day of event planner helping you at all? The main coordinator at my venue (she’s not a paid wedding designer) has been a great help telling me what would look good/not so good, etc. All the colors you mentioned seem like they are complimentry, deep rich colors.
What else is it that you need to decide on?? napkin colors? other florals?

Thank you for responding girls! I’m a details girl… and I think that’s why its freaking me out today… I need to decide on colors for the napkins, chargers, chair covers, chair sashs, lounge pillows, types of flowers, the other centerpieces. My main concern is the ceremony… I really want to make it extra special – think “the wedding panner”, the first scene with the trees and white flowers. I think that is so pretty and inexpensively replicated, but I don’t want to do exactly that, I just want it to be so amazing and pretty. Somehow listing that off made it a little better… I just keep seeing inspiration boards and i love one and then I love another that is TOTALLY different… its scary!
I don’t have a coordinator, but I do have neighbors that are acting as “host and hostess”, we are extremely close with them and they wanted to be involved in the wedding, so we opted to give them this title… I’m not sure what their “job descriptions” will be… but I’ll hopefuly figure that out. : )

Well I just took our colors and worked around that and what I had seen elsewhere. So, our linens are ivory with brown runners, with green and yellow centerpieces and candles around them. That is the main reception decor. There will also be large hurricanes filled with lemons and limes around the reception space.

Just start picking what you like and it will all start coming together. I had to make a list and it helped to start crossing things off. It was completely overwhelming for me to look at the big picture – but once I had specific tasks – it seems like I was getting a lot more done!
