@SweetBeets:  I swear by that Airborne stuff – it’s a little fizzy tablet that dissolves in water and is full of vitamins. Buy some over the counter cold meds in an easy-to-transport form, including some kind of decongestant so you’re not uncomfortable on the plane, and a ton of kleenex.

I was sick so much this year, not sure if I just kept catching the flu or never fully recovering.  The last two times I took Emergen-C (which I think is the same idea as Airborne).  The first time I took it, I don’t think it did anything, but I was pretty sick before I started.  I think it only helps if you take it when things are starting.  Last time I took it right when I started to get a bit congested with a sore throat in the morning and I felt better the next day.  Wouldn’t hurt to try it.

Drink water like it’s your job! The best thing that works for me is sudafed . But now you have to get it over the counter for the stuff that actually had pseudophedrine. Don’t just get the stuff on the shelf because it doesn’t have pseudophedrine and doesn’t work!

@SweetBeets:  I don’t know for sure that it works, but it seemed like it did. I was the only person in our house that didn’t get sick. I’ve also read that gargling with warm salt water EVERY hour helps immensely – and it’s free and it won’t HURT, so why not give it a try?

@SweetBeets:  I feel you so hard on this!!! I am in the same boat. I even went to the doctor because I thought it was pneumonia. My birthday is Tuesday and I leave for the Bahamas Friday!!

thankfully my doctor said to use mucinex. Not the decongestant kind but the expectorant kind. I feel way better in just 24 hours. I also swear by zicam, airborne, emergenC.

a girl I work with always tells me to eat French onion soup because onions draw bacteria out of the body. And I overdose on tea to keep my throat warm and soft all day.

Sudafed works wonders but I prefer Advil cold and sinus. Same active ingredient plus ibeprophen!

Also you don’t need a prescription for sudafed but you do have to go to the pharmacy and have them scan your license to buy it. Since you can boil it down and make meth and now it’s super regulated… Feel better!

This happened to us exactly two days after our wedding, which was in central Mexico aa we were preparing to fly to playa del Carmen’s for. 4 day honeymoon. inrraliEd I couldn’t deny it when we were sittin at the airport in Mexico City, waiting for our flight, that I felt like shit, my head was foggy the back of my throat was scratchy, sore and there was an abundance of mucous, lol. My hay and felt similarly. And I was already in mexicobi didn’t have any remedies from back home so I ran into a drug store at the airport and just asked for some non drowsy cold relief and throat drops. All were Mexican brand, no airborne or zinc or echinacea in Sight. As a nurse I don’t really beleive there is much you can do for a cold besides take it easy. Once it’s strated it’s in your cells and that’s that. So we ate well and rested the first night, the pool was the only place I didn’t feel aweful, so we swam a lot and drank a lot of frozen cocktails. A good buzz idea help with cld symptoms! Stayed well hydrated. Ofcourse we felt yucky at night and the air conditioning makes it worse so if you can pack a little humidifier I recommend That! It didn’t ruin the trip but I’m sure we could have had the energy to do more things had we not been sickly. may I suggest a day trip to chichen itza? It was amazing! Eveb in the pouring rain with double colds we loved it.

I know this will sound crazy… But it works!

Put it a thin layer of Vicks vapour rub on the bottom of your feet… Put socks on and go to bed…. you will feel great in the morning!
