Hi bees!! I'm a little new to posting on the boards, but I've been a long time lurker ;) Hopefully I go about posting this the right way...

So, our wedding is March 23rd and the FI and I are still finalizing his attire. We're getting married outdoors under a beautiful oak tree. He'll be wearing a khaki suit (just picked it up from Express--great deal with their buy one, get one 50% off sale!).

Our groomsmen are wearing khaki pants, white dress shirts, and wool herringbone vests from studiosuits.com:

The dilemma we have is whether or not FI should wear one of the wool herringbone vests under his suit jacket. He's not sure which option he likes better. I told him ultimately I'm happy with either and I want him to pick what makes him happy. (secretly I am leaning towards the option WITH the vest because I think it will look nice at the reception where he's bound to take his jacket off).

Since he's still torn, I thought maybe some outside opinions could help us decide!

Here it is with the vest under the jacket (excuse the wrinkles!):

    And without the vest:

Thanks for your help bees! <3

I really prefer it without the vest while the jacket is on! But why not have the best of both worlds? Is it possible to bring the vest with him (have a family member take it to the reception) and when hes dancing just put on the vest instead of the suit jacket?

I prefer the look without the vest.  I also think @mrscheetos: offered a nice idea.

I say just the vest and forget the jacket!

But: since that wasn't what you asked, I say no vest.

Thanks for all the input guys!! Gonna see if this helps the FI with his decision.

@stargurl101:  LOL, you're right -- from photos he looks happier in the vest. I think really though he just wasn't ready for that last pic without the vest :)

He has a young look to him, which is great... but I like the jacket and vest combo because it gives him a more mature look... perfectly compliments him.

Personally, I love vests.  I would try to do the best of both worlds too and have him put the vest on after the ceremony.
