Search wedding veils on etsy. They have a lot of different veils, and many of the shop owners would be happy to custom make you a veil, better yet they usually aren't as pricey as in salons. I got my circular cathedral veil from etsy for only $40
Here is another pic of one that I love. It's hard to see, but the veil extends past the train and has beading that goes up in the middle of the bottom of the veil. (Hope that makes sense). Where should I look? I'm lost and in need of a veil like this... sorry in advance for the large pic--not sure how to make it smaller.
they refer to circle cut veils as "drop veils."
Mine was 120" long. They can be made longer. Mine didn't have any beading and I believe it was around $90.
If there is a particular pattern you would like in terms of lace/beading, they can do it from a picture you send them, it adds to the cost but certainly not $1,800.
@adnama... thanks! I have searched and searched on etsy. I just get lost in the pages of vendors who offer to custom make veils and I'm not sure who to use/trust. Also, most of them look like raw edge/straight cut. I'm new to the whole etsy thing and not much help from my family on the wedding/buying online front. Who would you suggest or what terms should I search?
@magdalena, thanks! I hd not heard "drop veils" until now. That will definitely help my search! Did you get yours online? If so, who did you use?
@southernvintagebride: I did get mine online from Occansey Designs. The veil came quickly and it was good quality, although again what I ordered was just a plain veil without lace or anything. But I know they do custom work.
One thing is that they try and sell you a protective bag for the veil. I don't feel this is really necessary. I ordered my veil 6 months before my wedding and I just carefully folded it over a hanger and put it in the back of my closet. It certainly didn't yellow or anything.
Here are a few I found just searching "lace cathedral wedding veil" on etsy. The last is my favourite but it's a bit pricey. That key it to looking at feedback and seeing what other people say about the shop service.
I would try eBay or etsy. I have that Bees photo saved as one of my inspirations too! Sooo beautiful.
On another note, does two tier simply mean that the second tier goes over your face, as a blusher would normally do? Or does it mean that the veil has two tiers from top to bottom--as in the case of a cathedral veil, the entire length would be two tiers?
@eagle: I was originally looking for beading as opposed to lace, but when I saw her pic it mademe reconsider. I love love love it! Wish I knew where she got it and how much it was...
@southernvintagebride: the 2-tier can act as a blusher if you want it to, but it doesn't have to. But the 2nd tier is always shorter than the first
@adnama: Thanks! I was getting so confused about the tiers... So you can have two separate veils: a cathedral + a blusher, or you can get two-tier cathedral and use the top tier as the blusher... but they would be connected. Do I have that right? Lol...
@southernvintagebride: hmm, I've never heard of having the blusher and veil separate, but I'm really not that wise when it comes to all those details. But if you get a 2 tier, it's a blusher and veil and they are connected.
I second Occansey Bridal. She is a local maker and her stuff is amazing. Also check with glamgal.com, Anne is amazing to work with and her prices are very reasonable.
@tksjewelry: Thanks so much! It's hard to just google for veils because you get so many discount shops and chinese stores, etc. I'll definitely check those out. :)
@southernvintagebride: it looks like a Pronovias veil to me. And if I remember her post I think it is a Pronovias veil / dress.
Get one made for u my train is 2.5 meters so my drop veil has to be 5m...... They don't make them in that size generally so I went to someone whi makes wedding dresses showed her kate middletons drop veil and said make this but not in fingertip, in 5m she said ok 500soles which is 200 dollars ish
and that was that very easy suggest u doi the same. .....thouigh now personally I'm thinkin I mnight want the fingertip length! Bvut that's nbeither here nor there

Hi fellow bees,
I am looking for a veil that is circle cut, cathedral, with lace/beading. I'm not sure how long my train is, but I want the veil to extend out from the train a good ways... the longer the better (I have a long aisle in a church). I am posting a pic below of a fellow bee's veil in hope to find it or one very similar. She didn't list where it was from. :( I tried on an eve of milady one but it was $1800 and not in my budget... plus, it's not listed on their website and I cannot find it anywhere. I am having a very hard time looking for veils in general as most are raw edge or straight cut, and most bridal stores only have a couple samples in stock. HELP! Wedding in May 2012! Down to the wire...
