    I am finding myself overwhelemed with the amount of photographers out there, and am feeling like I am never going to find the right person/people. Our wedding is on a tight budget, and I'm trying to keep things under 10 grand if it's possible. I have found the style that I want.. just not the prices! Can anyone reccomend me someone out of Atlanta that would do a fantastic job? (I imagine asking someone to travel is out of the question, sice that will probably make it expensive really quickly) I'm going for something that will be less than a thousand dollars, but photographs are one of my TOP priorities! So far, the three sites I've found that really encompass what I'm looking for are the following:

    http://www.threepennies.com/

    http://simplybloomphotography.com/

    http://www.ourlaboroflove.com/#weddings-f4818

    Their prices are nightmarish! Any suggestions?

    @jessica579: I know these are fantastic photographers and I know you're on a tight budget but unfortunately I have to be honest - you won't find a professional photographer in the Atlanta area who produces anything close to these photographers for less than a thousand dollars. The price range you're looking at to come close to these is probably $2500+ in that market. Generally speaking, excellent photography costs what it does for a reason. I think your best bet is to either up your photo budget or lower your expectations - you may find a student photographer or newbie for around that price.

    You could try and look for photographers out of other areas that might be willing to travel. There are several smaller towns around ATL and the photographers might be a little more reasonable.

    @FutureWaldron: While I don't think this photographer comes close to the level put out by the photographers the OP listed, they're still solid images (though even this photographer is $500 over what the OP wants to spend)

    I agree with misskoala, you could try looking outside of Atlanta, but just in general it's going to be hard to find a professional for under $1,000. Photographers running legitimate businesses have a bare minimum they need to charge to pay their expenses and have enough for rent and food. That number is usually around $2,000+, and higher in places with high cost of living (Atlanta being one of them). I think if you can lower your expectations about the kind of images you're going to get will help with your search. It does you no good to look at websites of photogs whose starting price is $7,000.

    I have researched atl photographers and there are several under 1200 that offered good deals. Just look online.you can see their portfolios and decide for yourself if there work is quality. Don't think that you have to spend thousands of dollars on a photographer. >

    The going rate for photographers in the ATL area seems to be at least $2,000. Maybe you can try to customize a package that meets your needs and gets rid of "fluff".

    My photographer was Julie Neill with Peach Blossom Photography in Atlanta. She was AMAZING! I think her prices have gone up a little since we booked her (she was $1050 for our wedding at the time and I think is around $1300 now) but she is awesome. Here's a link to a post I made right after our wedding linking to our slideshow she did for us and the blog post she made a couple days after our wedding. Feel free to PM me if you want to know anything else; I really can't recommend her enough.

    You could try our photographer - Joleen at http://lovejoleen.typepad.com/photography/

    I don't think you'll be able to get her for under 1k but probably somewhere close to that. Honestly, you won't be able to get anyone professional for under 1k unless you get a discount. If you think about it, photographers book 1 wedding a weekend if they're lucky and once you consider all the costs that go into it, you're basically asking them to make very, very little money if you want to pay less than 1k. I know it sucks but everyone is just trying to get by.

    Depending on how many hours you choose, my photog has prices that ranged from $900 to $2800. $900 is the bare minimum - we went with a slightly more expensive package. But she is SO GOOD. She's not IN Atlanta, but she's near it. I'm not sure if she would charge for travel (depending on where your venue is). But here's her website nonetheless.

    ETA: Her prices have gone up since we booked. Now it's a range from $1250 to $3400. But she's seriously amazing.

    Thank you ladies!!! I really appreciate the comments. I was hoping that perhaps I was just looking in the wrong places or had not looked enough... I now realize that you really do get what you pay for. I'm going to have to get a little more realistic about what kind of photographs I want and maybe adjust the budget a little. And @ohheavenlyday, you truly did have beautiful photos and she did an excellent job. I'm definitely going to keep her in mind.

    @jessica579:

    I really can't recommend her enough. She was in Savannah one weekend for another wedding and wanted to meet us before the wedding, so she threw in a free engagement shoot for us. And on the day of the wedding, she brought along her husband as a second shooter, at no additional charge, and we were able to get some shots from the balcony of our chapel that we wouldn't have been able to get without him there. She is sending me five free 8x10 prints just for leaving reviews on various wedding sites. For the money, you really can't do much better.
