@Emerald2011: If your wedding is in August 2011, it is not too late. Actually you are still in what most photographers of mid range call early. All the seriously in demand photographers are all booked.
There was a pretty good thread on the DC boards a couple of days ago and prettylittlemess made a awesome google doc with lots of suggestions. (it's about halfway down)

Depending on what look you are going for $2500 might be hard in DC metro, but totally do able! Check out the thread!
Look at Jennifer Chase Photography - my friends just got engaged and the photographer was there to capture the moment and her engagement and wedding photos are AWESOME! I dont know exactly how much she costs but Im sure you could negotiate something with her. You can look at her facebook page (just type in Jennifer Chase Photgraphy) - seriously her work is awesome!
Check out this one. MistiMorningstar.com
I have several friends who used them and i'm going to hire them too!!!!
Even though I'm not using them, the Happy Couple photographers were very nice, seemed to put out a great product, and were VERY well priced.
I'd recommend checking them out.
My photographer was amazing! I highly recommend her! Her name is Valerie Usui and her rates are very reasonable and you would definitely be able to stay within your price range.
She blogged our wedding photos and I LOVE them!! Feel free to take a peek: http://valerieusuiphoto.com/Valerie_Usui_Wedding_Photography/Blog/Entries/2010/6/19_Kelly_%26_Dan__Baldwin_Station.html
Hi there!
You're definitely not too late looking, but I wouldn't wait much longer! If you're finding that many of the photographers in the DC area are out of your budget, consider expanding your search to VA and even NC photographers who may be very talented but have lower rates because of where they do business. You'll likely pay a low travel fee but might be able to find an equally talented photographer for $1,000 less if you look outside the city. I am a wedding photographer in the Triangle area of North Carolina and I shoot all over DC, VA, and SC, and I know a number of other area photographers who shoot that far as well. Let me know if I can be of any help at all!

I don't know if we are late in finding a photographer, but I have been so focused on finding a venue and setting a date that I did not think about our engagement photos. Ideally we would like to have the same photographer for our engagement session and wedding.
We would like to stay in the $2500 range (I am not sure how realistic this is). If anyone has any suggestions for photographers that serve DC and MD, I'd greatly apreciate it!
