To me, these are the epitome of romance. I have never seen anyone wear one, and I don't know where you could get them, but if you liked a design, you could always get a replica made. Jasmines and DressilyMe both do amazing work.

@nativedesires: Thanks for the suggestion! There are a few boutique dress shops in the outskirts that carry Mori Lee so I'll be sure to check it out! :)
@EffieTrinket: They do have beautiful dresses! I am trying to wade through reviews about Jasmine and Dressily. I'm just worried that it will fit differently than what is pictured (it's always hard to tell from just the photo).
@nativedesires: I should have mentioned that I'm only about 5 feet nothing and a size 0-2 normally so this one would be too overpowering. I would need something a little slimmer. But thanks for the suggestion! I do love the top and the ruffles are so pretty! :)

Hi everyone, I'm new to the board. I've been reading and gathering helpful information for months, but I never felt the need to register and post any questions until now.
I've been searching for a romantic dress for my summer wedding without luck. I budgeted $1000 taking into account the cost of $300 or so in alterations (there is wiggle room but I just prefer to get the dress I want for as cheap as possible).
Anyhow, I've been to a handful of shops around town that carry dresses for under $1500 and haven't found anything I REALLY LOVE. I want something light and airy that I'll be comfortable in. The closest I've found in person is this dress from DB but it has this tiny polka dot pattern on the fabric which I could do without:
What I would really LOVE is something similar to this style I found on a website called Light in the Box (without the weird thing sticking out of the bust):
I'm actually really tempted to order it since it's only $280 but I've been reading mixed reviews about the company and I'm not sure I want to take the chance.

So, does anyone have any suggestions as to where I should be looking (i.e. particular designers or department stores or trunk shows, etc.)? I'm in the Ottawa/Gatineau area but would be willing to check out Montreal, Toronto or even somewhere across the border in the US. HELP and thanks in advance! :)
