Are you getting married IN a church?  If so then I’d ask that officiant.

If not, then check your local board for rec’s or even check Craigslist (I found mine this way!!).

I found mine by googling (state) officiants and there’s usually a few groups out there that perform (non)denominational ceremonies and are certified to. Or you can ordain one of your friends to be your officiant! 🙂

There’s quite a few sites. I would google becoming ordained or something along those lines. I’m a frequent google-er if you haven’t noticed. haha!

I would go to your church and ask them.  Most likely though they will tell you that you will have to join and attend premarital counseling (which is always good) before they will officiate you ceremony.  Good luck:)

fi and i met our celebrant via our wedding venue. They held an open night with their preferred suppliers and we met Robbie. She was no nice and sweet to us. We have since spoken via email and met with her to sign our notice of intention of marriage (australian thing) and we really like her. She came highly recommended by the wedding coordinator at the venue (she is a friend of my sister) so we trust her recommendations

If you and your fiance are both religious and consider yourselves to belong to the same denomination, talk to your pastor (either the one you grew up with or the one from the church you sometimes attend).  There may be some hoops to jump through, but you should be married by someone who shares your beliefs.  You might consider having one of your family members who attends the church talk to the pastor.  My uncle’s pastor offered to marry us even though I have only met him once and neither of us belongs to his denomination (I’m not even particularly religious).
