Recently I saw a post about linens and a few users posted websites to buy your own linens. I went back trying to find the post, but I can’t find one that has a list of places to buy linen online.
Anyone know of any online linen vendors that provide linens at affordable prices?
I went to get an estimate from a caterer today and they want to charge me:
$12/per table for the tablecloth
$1.50/linen napkin (which I think is A LOT)
I think I can buy charger plates for $1 each and I certainly think I can find linen napkins for cheaper than $1.50 as well. If can buy them and sell them when I’m done for a fraction of the price, at least I can recoop some of my money.

I bought from Linentablecloths.com and I have sort of a mixed review. The tablecloths themselves are fine, but the napkins were a nightmare. We bought just over 200 17″ napkins. 30 of them were more like 15″, and another dozen were stained by rust or something, or were so unbelievably wrinkly (wouldn’t come out with ironing, it was some bizarre wrinkly fabric) we couldn’t use them. Thank goodness we had over ordered!!!
Learn from my mistake though. It was rainy the night of our tented reception. At the end of the night all the tablecloths when into plastic bags, we brought them home on Sunday, but the sat in the bags until we got back from our honeymoon. They all have some sort of super sonic mould on them that I cannot get off, which totally defeats the purpose of having bought them to resell them. Now I’m going to have to find a professional cleaner to see if they can be salvaged which is not going to be cheap I’m sure. Sigh. If we had JUST opened the stupid bags…

Thanks everyone. This is exactly what I was looking for. Linentablecloth.com was the site I had visited that had very affordable prices.
@bakerella: Thanks for the review. It’s always puts things into perspective when you hear another brides story.

Has anyone tried rentablecloths.com? They rent 114″ rounds for $8 and napkins for .35/each. I want to try them, though I haven’t read any reviews.

@MissIntent: I don’t have experience with them, but as your wedding is some time in the future, would you consider ordering a small amount of linens from them( e.g.for a holiday meal or dinner party) so you can evaluate them yourself?

That’s a good idea, and I think I’ll try it.

@MissIntent: Do you know if they charge shipping at rentablecloths.com? I wonder what it would equate to once tax and shipping is included?

efavormart.com has really affordable linens. They even have pintuck and satin options. Happy hunting 🙂

Don’t forget to check for coupons for all the sites before you order. Some will run specials with free shipping or have reduced prices they don’t advertise.
I bought from WeddingLinensDirect and Linentablecloths and both were fine and both shipped quickly. Efavormart was a little trouble in that they ran out of what I wanted to order and didn’t notify me right away and had no substitute or another date they’d be in, so I opted for a refund. Got it pretty quickly, so no problem there.
It takes some work to find the best deals, but it’s worth it! Don’t forget to check Ebay as several stores sell on there too.
