I have my first quote from a florist and I am sure this question gets asked alot- but what is the avg price for a bridal bouquet and the bridesmaids? Below is what I got- thoughts? Is this reasonable given the flowers I am having? I really have no idea! Do you think I could ask her to reduce my bouquet to around 150 and the bridesmaids to 75 or lower? I have 7 bridesmaids- so this really adds up!!
Bride wearing (white) to carry a cluster style bouquet of blush, ivories, white peonies, garden roses & ranunculus $200.00
Maid of Honor wearing navy to carry a cluster style bouquet of pale pink peonies, blush roses, pale pink ranunculus$100.00
7 Bridesmaids wearing Navy to carry a cluster style bouquet slightly smaller than maid of h$85 ea $595.00

Here’s what I’ve learned from my research:
Bouts are generally $8-$14
Coursages are more like $14-$20
The bridal bouquet I think is usually around $100 (this really depends on the flowers and size).
Bridesmaid or Best Man bouquets would be like $75
I dont see any problem with asking them to reduce the price!!

Your numbers seem in line with what I’ve been seeing (although I only did cursory shopping before I decided to go silk – if I’m paying that much, I want to keep my flowers for more than a week).
Are there substitutions she could make to bring the price down? Also, what sizes are the bouquets? A lot of modern weddings are doing very small bouquets, which personally, I think looks great.

My flowers were CHEAP, and I did go through a florist! I ordered a 10 stem bouquet of alstroemeria for me, and it was $25, and 6-stem alstroemeria bouquets for my girls and they were $15). Bouts were like, $8, and the ladies corsages were around $12.

I don’t think it’s going through a florist that makes it super expensive (although you’re paying for the work) – I think it’s the choice of flowers. Alostromeria should be less expensive than peonies, I think. (also it’s very lovely, great choice!)

@alyssa.tavangaran:Yup, it’s because you chose expensive flowers. Peonies can be anywhere from $5-$10/stem depending on the time of year, and ranunculus and garden roses are right behind them in cost.

Have you considered baby’s breath bouquets for your BMs? They’re really quite lovely:

I’m from Chicago (yay, city prices!), and those prices are similar to what I’ve been seeing. I was quoted $200 for a bouquet of peonies, tulips, garden roses, and ranunculus. Bridesmaids came in at $100.
