So I don't have my ears pierced, and the only time I've worn a necklace is when I've had to in other people's weddings.  However, I don't want to look plain.  Any suggestions on how to liven things up?  My dress is very simple and all lace.

I don't have my ears pierced either, had them done 3 times already and they always get infected.  I'm trying to go the clip on route, and this is the best site I've found so far - http://www.emitations.com/cliponearrings.html They have some pretty necklaces and bracelets too.  I signed up for their emails and the first email I got was $5 off my order and then I got another one today saying 25% off my total order!

I like really simple jewelry.  Go to a store like Macys with a huge selection and get something that is just one stone on a chain.  I found a simple necklace today for just $28.  It will add a little something, but you won't feel like you're faking it.

Do you want to leave the dress alone? If not, add a sash to it or add a brooch. Or a headband - it doesn't have to be glitzy or sparkly, just a pretty headband.

If you aren't into glitz, don't wear it just because other people do. What accessories fit your style and comfort level? No one will notice or care that you aren't wearing jewelry, contrary to popular belief. Wear your hair in a pretty style and you'll be good to go.

If someone is not comfortable with wearing glitzy accessories, or any jewelry in general, then even the simplest earrings or necklace will be too much and make them feel self-conscious. Everyone has their own style and that should be respected even if others feel it's "too plain", etc for themselves.

Thanks for the recommendations.  I think I'm going to get a sparkly hairpiece and maybe a sash.  I'll just have to wait until my dress comes in to see what looks best!
