To tame farying- don't use satin. OR fold the fabric over, so the fold is the top of the petals. Satin frays, sorry to tell you.

I don't know how to stop the fraying- but what about using ribbon (which has a finished edge) instead of a piece of material?
That was exactly what I was thinking. I like a little fraying because it looks more like an exaggerated flower, but I was hoping there is some fabric glue. Thanks for all the suggestions!

After viewing posts and tutorials on how to make flowers and ring pillows, I decided to try my hand at making boutonnieres from some satin fabric and tulle. I've fastened them with ribbon and a pin and attached a crepe paper leaf. I also want to get a nice looking pin to attach them to the suits and possibly shop for something to go in the middle of the flower.
I just made this with no instruction, just trial and error. I've never really done any fabric crafts, so do you have any advice to tame the fraying? What do you think? Any advice to improve it?
