My fiance and I just completely scrapped our wedding plans (the day our contract was due) and are starting over from scratch.  What we need is a venue!!!  We would love to be in San Francisco or Marin (maybe even Wine Co. but haven't had any luck there so far).  Hoping to have an outside ceremony and inside reception -- preferably at a place which would already have a caterer.  Isn't that less work, or does it limit you??

I pretty much exhausted myself planning the initial wedding so now am really desperate for ideas.  Anyone been to/had a wedding in a fantastic spot??

Thanks so so so much in advance (think REALLY good karma for you Help for Nor. California bride!! : wedding venue Icon Biggrin)

    Hi,

I was initially planning a San Francisco wedding (before changing to Minneapolis for family reasons), and fell in love with the Flood Mansion. It's a gorgeous old mansion in Pacific Heights with the most stunning city and bay views. There is an outdoor courtyard perfect for the ceremony. They don't have an onsite caterer, but they have suggested caterers. I met with one called Dan McCall, which seemed to be very full service and familiar with the space, if that's helpful. The website is floodmansion.org. Good luck!

    Hi there,

My cousin is getting married in Marin, and the reception is at the Marin Art & Garden Center. It looks amazing if you're looking for an indoor/outdoor venue. The website is www.maagc.org.

    Hi,

Here are some sites I loved:

Audobon Society in Tiburon (gorgeous bay views)

    Serivino's restaurant in Tiburon

     Viansa Winery

    Paradise Ridge Winery

    Marin Headlands Arts Center

Magnolia Terrace at the San Rafael Elks Lodge (gorgeous terrace)

Kenwood Depot (cute vintage train depot in Glen Ellen)

    Stonetree Golf Club

BR Cohn Winery is where I'm getting married, and having an outside caterer enabled me to cut costs in order to afford the site...I don't really think having an outside caterer has been more work.

    Good luck!

It sounds a little out of the way, but we're getting married in the Livermore (East Bay) Valley wine country. There are some really nice ones (my favorite was Wente) and I believe it's cheaper than Napa. There's also a really cute place in Fremont called Palmdale Estates, but that's for smaller weddings. But I definitely found herecomestheguide.com to be helpful. And they also have a magazine of all the locations. We were offered a free one at Bed Bath and Beyond.

    Good luck!

    Hi All!

I really appreciate all of your suggestions.  Thank you!!  I have been addicted to www.herecomestheguide.com as well, but I just felt overwhelmed and didn't know which direction to go .... hotel in sf, beautiful garden in marin, or winery in napa.  I guess our issues are going to determine what kind of site we choose:  we are going to have a jewish wedding, so Saturday means we should wait for sundown ... but we also want an outdoor ceremony and live music, so timing is an issue (most have cutoffs of 9 or 10pm).  We also have family coming in from all over, so we wanted to have a venue convenient to an airport/decent hotel.

So long story short, we are leaning towards Stonetree Golf Club.  It has outdoor capabilities, pretty ballroom that is big enough, and is about 20 minutes from my parents house.  Hopefully it wont end up being crazy expensive!!

If any one has been to a wedding there or got married there please share any information!!  Thank you so much in advance....
