We may know it’s wrong, we may feel embarassed about it, but many of us here on the waiting boards feel engagement envy (you may know it as engagement longing.)
I was inspired today by the Iron Lady movie:
Margaret Thatcher: Watch your thoughts, for they become words.Watch your words, for they become actions. Watch your actions, for they become habits. Watch your habits, for they become your character. And watch your character, for it becomes your destiny. What we think, we become.
So I looked hard for advice on how to get through the bad feelings and have more positive thoughts. I wanted to share some links & quotes from articles to help us balance our thoughts & gain perspective. But I couldn’t find any, all I could find online was vents on other forums! So, here is what I found. It’s not much, but it’s a start. Can anyone else find specific helpful or inspirational advice?
There will always be things in life that are beyond our control. If you are upset because you feel as though you should’ve been popped the question ions ago well then I’ d have to ask you: a) What other aspects of your relationship need your attention? B) How would your relationship be different if you got engaged?
