So, in our one frugal move of wedding planning, we bought a Gilt City voucher for 40% of letterpress invitations ($960) with Delphine Press back in February, and it was good for a year. I’ve been on the Delphine site a bunch of times since then looking at the invitations, up until probably about a month ago. Maybe even three weeks ago. Last night, I went to look at the invitations again, and the website consists just of a page saying “sorry, we’ve printed our last invitation.” No contact info. Nothing about what to do if they’ve taken your money and not given you anything.
Looking at the terms and conditions, Gilt pretty much washes their hands of you and your problems the second they send you the voucher. I e-mailed them anyway, but am not holding my breath. Does anyone have any experience getting a refund from Gilt after a vendor failed to honor a voucher?
I also e-mailed the info e-mail address for Delphine that I have, but again, I am not holding my breath on that.
My last hope is that AmEx might help since I bought it on my card? But again, techinically Gilt held up their end of the contract by giving me the voucher, so I’m not sure AmEx would deny the charge? Anyone have any experience with this?
Are there any other options? I thought of possibly taking the press to small claims court, but if the corporation has been disolved, I’m not sure there is anyone to take to court.
