hi bees. i never thought i would be in a belt/no belt conundrum bec i LOVE my gown the way it is. BUT i have a crease in the waist of my gown and so im contemplating a belt to cover it.
my options r to go with a beaded belt which is rather thin, but the only one that doesnt detract from the dress, and is totally affordable. OR add a plain wide ribbon. Or a plain thin ribbon. Or not bother at all because it is possible nobody will even notice the crease.
which do you guys like best?
dress with no belt (MY gown in alterations):
dress with skinny beaded belt (sample gown in salon):
dress with wide ribbon:
dress with skinny ribbon:

The beaded belt is ok, but maybe a little too skinny. I don’t think you need it. The other two belts just don’t make sense.

I think you actually look skinnier without anything at the waist. I don’t see a crease! It’s probably just an illusion but I like it best with nothing. The big white ribbon was my choice if I had to choose, but it’s probalby 1 ply and would reveal every bump in the fabric.

Can you get a wide sparkle belt?

@BeeG35: I think either the beaded sparkly belt or no belt. Not a fan of the ribbons at all, sorry.
Your dress is GORGEOUS btw 🙂

I have been staring for at least three full minutes and cannot find a crease! You crazy, girl! You look phenomenal 🙂

@Day_In_The_Life: well, these belts run upwards of $300. The skinny one I can get for 150 and I have a 100 in-store credit so it would only be 50. I do have pics of wider belts but I just can’t afford them.

@BeeG35: Maybe look on Etsy, I just think a thicker belt would look better. But it is all about what you want and what you are comfortable with.

Either the thin belt, if the crease bothers you, or no belt. For what it’s worth, I can’t see the crease! You look fabulous in that dress!! And I think without a belt makes a slimmer line.

I like the look of thicker belt/sash! Gorgeous dress on you though!

As your dress twin, I say no belt. It breaks up the flow from the chiffon to the lace 🙂

i luv the dress as it is! You look great! The belts make the dress look different. I have a lace dress as well and everyone has suggested I add some ‘bling’ in the form of a belt or an applique, but to me the dress doesn’t need anything. If you’re adding the belt only for the crease it is unnecesary, but if you want a pop of bling I’d say the rhinestone belt.
