HI Bees!! One of my pastors at a church I used to attend is going to be the officiant at my wedding and he said all I need to worry about as far as money goes is a donation of my choice to the church.
I have no idea what amount is acceptable. I am on a budget so I cannot afford to give a ton of money but I also dont want to give too small of an amount. Any suggestions are appreciated!!

Many churches have a “required donation” which can vary widely from place to place and from one denomination to another. On the low end (rural areas and small towns in places with a low cost of living), around $200-$250 might be typical. On the high end (major cities, tourist destinations, cathedral churches, etc.) it can go to $1000+, although that’s a little unusual.
Maybe think about pegging your church donation to something else in your wedding budget: is it worth as much to you as your gown? Your flowers? etc. and donate a comparable amount.

I would think anywhere from $100-$200 would suffice since you are on a small budget and he said it would be your choice.

At my church, the officiant suggested-donation amount is $150.
