I have a Biology exam at noon. I studied for it all week, and it's a huge percentage of my grade. Last night I felt a cold coming on, so I went to bed early.

This morning it's 100x worse. Nothing I could get out of the test for, but bad enough that my head is foggy. I had tomato soup for breakfast (awesome, right?) but we're out of orange juice and no time to get some - any fast remedies? I just need to make it through this exam, and then I can rest!

Guzzle some water. Chewing gum also helps for me, at least. I read somewhere that it improves test scores by 14%. I'm not sure about the veracity of that, but it's all in the mind, anyway. I would also bring some tissues and sit in the back of the class :P.

Go buy yourself some nose spray - seriously.  The worst part about a cold is the plugged head feeling and if you can breathe out your nose it makes all the difference.  If you can't pick up some nose spray, drink lots of water, have some ibuprofen or tylenol, and wear lots of layers so you are comfortable.  I like to be warm when I feel awful.  If you have any throat lozenges, suck on one of those.  A travel mug of tea also helps me when I feel crappy.  You can do it!

Thanks girls - I'm downing lemon water right now and will take some tea with me. I'm just glad I studied earlier in the week so I'm not cramming now!

My granny swears by what she calls a "whiskey sling"

Mix a mug of hot tea with a tsp of honey, a tablespoon (or more!) of whiskey, and lemon. Maybe not the best idea before an exam, but certainly after!

    Good luck :)

@lindseyrose: it's true, a bit of whiskey in a warm drink with lemon and honey can really help! obviously not so much that it interferes with your ability to take the exam :)

Coldeze, the stuff that has the zinc in it.  It's a lozenge.  Works like a champ for me but it can upset your stomach if you're sensitive.
