I started putting together our wedding invitations today but forgot to put stamps on the RSVP envelope! Luckily, I caught myself after sealing only a few, but now I need to get back in there without ruining the envelope! I ordered extra envelopes, but used most of them on mess-ups (I handwrote each address). Does anyone know a good trick to opening and then re-sealing envelopes?
The ones I have are the ‘lick to seal’ kind. I do have a couple extra blank envelopes, but not enough to re-do each one I’ve already sealed. I really don’t want to have to buy more, but will if I have to. Anyone have advice or tips for me?

@SeasideBride510: put it in the freezer for an hour or two.
You could also try steam.

@MrsWBS: I’ve never heard that before…That’s great to know!

@SeasideBride510: Try freezing them. Often it works to release the glue.

@SeasideBride510: We’ve steamed open tons of envelopes and it works like a charm, although sometimes they can look a little wrinkly.

Just wanted to stop by and say that I tried the freezer trick, and it worked pretty well! Some of the envelopes ripped a little when I tried (very carefully) to open them back up. I put stamps on my RSVP envelopes and then re-sealed them with a glue stick and they look great! You can’t even tell where some of them ripped!
For future reference- I did leave them in the freezer for a day before trying to open them. Honestly, I forgot to check on them! I don’t know if that made any difference or not.
Thanks for all your suggestions!
