I don't think apps can be purchased for more than one device. If you want them on both devices you have to purchase them on both devices.
ETA: Could be totally wrong.
I have the same idevices. I downloaded an app called bump onto both and then it let me transfer a specific app that i selected by bumping the devices together. but the app lots all it's data when tranfered to the new idevice.
I thought that was the point of iCloud? It transferred everything between the two seamlessly? When I go into the App store on my iPad, under purchased it says "All" or "Not on this iPad" as options at the top.
I have an ipod touch and an ipod 4S...most of the apps I already had on my ipod touch, when I went to the app store to download them it would say "INSTALL" instead of purchase or free where the price normally is. Maybe that will work?
lucky duck with your ipad 2! i have an iphone but no use for the cloud yet but your apps should save/backup to your itunes no? can you move them over the same way you did your music and videos?
@totheislnds: I know. I'm so excited. I've been saving for it for a while :)
So ya, I guess I'm doing this old school via iTunes, I just thought that the iCloud was supposed to do this. Ugh. Oh well.
The iCloud is supposed to. Did you use the same e-mail address as you did on your iPhone 4S or vice versa?

Oh my gosh. So google has proffered me no answers, so I'm hoping one of you is tech savvy and can help me.
I have an iPhone 4s. I just got an iPad 2. I have both hooked up to iCloud, but I can't get my apps from my iPhone onto my iPad. What obvious dots am I not connecting?! I got my music and photos over via iTunes, but the apps didn't go. What the heck am I doing wrong?!
