It's totally fine. Sequins are fine for an evening reception. A garden reception in the afternoon on a Sunday...not so much.
It's fine. That's a very old fashioned rule. Women are wearing sequined tanks and tees to work now.
i have issues with sequins before dusk, and with spagetti straps in church. I'd add a cute black cardi.
I agree with the cardigan idea. I think that would make it more appropriate.
IMHO I think the combination of the colour plus the sequins plus the straps make it inappropriate for a 3pm wedding.
She's already planning on wearing a cardigan, she just didn't put it in the pic! I think it's totally appropriate!
Whoever siad that sequins are off-limits has too much time on their hands to fabricate nonexistent "rules", as they are not taboo in any setting. The dress is gorgeous and appropriate for any wedding. Go for it.
It'll look like this with the cardigan. It looks much darker in this picture, but the blue underneath shows much more in proper light.
The cardigan is pretty but you can't see the cute dress underneath it at all since it is so long. Skip the cardigan and wear the dress as is.
@Ember78: haha yeah i agree...but i was thinking for the church ceremony I'd leave it on to be respectful and then for the reception, I would take it off :)

This is the dress I'm planning to wear to a late afternoon (3pm) wedding (at a church) that is followed by an evening reception (6pm) at an off-site location. It has sequins on top and I read that you shouldn't wear sequins. What do you guys think? Good/Bad? HELP! I don't want to dress inappropriately to the wedding!
