- Wedding: October 2015
I am terrible with visualizing things and many things I plan (decorating wise) never look like I had them in my head. Trying to plan my wedding and this is making it so much harder!
I am almost 40 and this is my second wedding. I didn’t get to plan my first one so this is a lot of fun but stressful at the same time. This is my FI’s first wedding so we are going for a full blown blow out!
Originally we were doing a rustic type theme. Our wedding ceremony is outdoors and our reception is in a barn. Rustic is very fitting for us as we are definitely boots and jeans people. I then went more twoard a shabby chic theme or pearls and lace theme. I have been collecting dishes, plates, vases, old books, brooches to use a decor for the reception.
The colors we have picked are browns and champagnes. We keep trying to add another color but I just can’t figure out which one and where to incorporate it. My maids are wearing champagne dresses. I have no clue on the flowers they will be carrying yet. I originally wanted all sunflowers and babys breath but I am not sure what that will look like with champagne dresses. I want the flowers to kind of pop.
For the GM we want them to wear brown vests and nice jeans. Do you think a champagne shirt would be OK with that? FI hasn’t really decided what he is wearing yet.
My dress is still up in the air as well. Now that they maids are wearing champagne I may add some color via my dress. One I had looked at all lace with a dusty purple under the lace. It is beautiful and if I go that direction we could use purple as the other color. Then we could incorporate purple into the flowers as well.
We are doing a cocktail hour with some appetizers then having a family style dinner. Because we are going with family style that will limit the centerpieces we use just because I want to have plenty of room on the tables. Was thinking some type of vases with pearls and candles in them.
Does this sound all over the place? I just can’t see it in my head yet.
