Depending on how theatrical they are, you could have props for them to pose with, like at a wedding photobooth! I could totally picture my 14yo niece rocking a pink boa :)
I think little goodie bags of necessities for the night might be really cute and thoughtful. You can give each girl a small bag with a lip gloss, safety pins, (just in case), face blotter sheets, mints, and hmmm i'm out of ideas that can fit into an evening bag. hahaha make sure everything is mini size to fit into their evening bags. you're an awesome sister by the way.

When I was in high school, my bff's mom totally did this for us (except we did each others' hair) - we had popcorn, cookies, fresh carrot sticks... for virgin drinks, invest in a bottle of grenadine and a few bottles of maraschino cherries - when I was 14, that was like the height of sophistication in my life, haha. You could do virgin Kir (grenadine and champagne) with sparkling cider! Or shirley temples. Even cherry coke.
If you're doing make up for them too, I suggest straws so they won't muss their lipstick. :)
So cute! What about some virgin chocolate martinis? It's pretty much just chocolate milk in a martini glass ;) You're a totally rad big sis. You could get little samples of makeup to give to them if they need touch-ups too.

OMG how freakin' fun! Can I come? Definintely have your sister make a background cd; could you somehow set up a movie star mirror? That would be fun! Oh, definintely hand out cameras, they'll have the BEST time taking pictures of eachother and the photobooth idea was genuis, whoever brought that up!

Hello Hive!
What better place to reach out for a few creative ideas than to all you fabulous ladies (and gents?)?
So, to make it short and sweet: my baby sisters are going to their first homecoming dance this weekend. Beforehand they are having a few (about 10) girls over to my parents house to do the grand 'getting ready' portion of the evening. My BFF and I will be on hand to do hair and make up (for ten 14-year-old girls.... not entirely sure we were sober when we agreed to this...).
I want to make it super special for them as they're so excited. I was thinking about setting up the guest room as a sort of command station and stocking it with goodies like sparkling cider and cookies.
This is where you come in...
What should I do? Stock it with food? decorate? make goodie bags? tell them they should just be happy with us putting up with all of them ; )
Any ideas or fab recipes for food or virgin cocktails?
