Weddingbee boards

Here's the deal, we want paper lanterns over our dance floor and we are getting married in a beautiful renovated mill that has high ceilings. Therefore, the venue does not allow people to hang paper lanterns themselves (for safety and insurance reasons). HOWEVER, their package to hanging their own white paper lanterns themselves is $350!!!

What's the problem? I don't want to spend $350 on this (we are already over budget so it's hard to justify this cost). I want other color paper lanterns. I have a good relationship with my venue's coordinator that I would like to maintain, so demanding a cheaper cost and different colors is not an option... nor my style!!

SOOO, does anyone have ideas on how to hang lanterns over the dance floor in a way that's NOT from the ceiling? Maybe renting or buying used tri-pods and stringing them ourselves from there? I'd love to see photos of how others hung them NOTTT from the ceiling (I've already seen many photos of them from the ceiling and it's not an option for us at this point).

@JohnAndMarlanaWedding:  It looks like we are going to purchase the supplies and string them ourselves. Our venue will then hang them for us at their hourly rate. It's not ideal, but better than the alternative.

@BoiledPNut:  That's a good suggestion; however, our dance floor isn't really near a wall. I like your thinking though...
