Have you checked out a Key Lime martini?
Oh, the link didn't work, let's try again.
Anything with Ameretto or SoCo in it might give you a burnt orange shade. And both are obviously a sweeter alternative to rum. But, I find that a lot of people are good with flavored rum. What about something with the coconut flavor or if you want something fallish, why not try a spiced cider recipe w/ spiced rum and cinnamon in it. We serve spiced rum at our fall parties every year!
The Filby Cocktail is a pretty burnt-ish orange colour;
Filby Cocktail
1¼ oz Gin (London Dry)
½ oz Amaretto Liqueur
½ oz Dry Vermouth
¼ oz Campari

Or there's the Ninotchka cocktail which is an ivory colour;
Ninotchka (Nintchka, Ninitchka)
15 ml light creme de cacao
15 ml fresh lemon juice
Shake. Cocktail glass.

Hope that helps some!
I also think pineapple rum is a great idea. You could also do rum with pineapple juice, it's sweet and I can never really taste the rum in it. You can use Meyer's or another dark rum to make it a more brown than yellow color.
How about appletini or cranberry & vodka to appeal to the vodka drinkers and then something tropical like pineapple and malibu for the rum drinkers?
if you do a martini drink, it would be cute if you called it a mar"key"ni. like a key lime markeyni since your in the keys :)
It's probably hard to put in those containers. But we had champagne with pomegranate(sp?) juice in it and it was this beautiful fushia color. I think we are using it at our wedding.
we served a black raspberry peach martini that was delicious and also a blueberry passion fruit fizz. the first one had peach juice, black raspberry schnapps, and vodka. the other one had blueberry passion schnapps, sprite, and vodka. schnapps is a great way to get a bright color.

We're having a Fall wedding in the Keys. I'm trying to incorporate both the location and the season in the overall feel of the wedding. That being said, I need some ideas for signature drinks at the cocktail reception. Rum drinks are always a tropical favorite, but not everyone likes rum. I have two of these drink dispensers for the drinks, so something visually appealing is good too. Our colors are fuschia, apple green, burnt orange, chocolate brown and ivory. Any ideas??? TIA!
