I need help picking a song to dance to with my stepdad at my reception. He has always been there for me but we do not have a close relationship. I am just wanting a general type song…not one that is mushy. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I would opt for something fun rather than something too sentimental:
I Get A Kick Out of You– Frank Sinatra
Isn’t She Lovely– Stevie Wonder
Thank Heaven for Little Girls– Maurice Chevaulier
Celebrate– Kool and the Gang
What A Wonderful World– Louis Armstrong
Thanks Again– Ricky Skaggs
They Can’t Take That Away From Me– F. Sinatra and N. Cole

@futuremrsdick: Out of curiosity, what did you guys choose? I’m having the same problem….

any other suggestions? My dad and I aren’t really close lately due to some family drama he has caused with his midlife-crisis behavior, but he is still attending the wedding. And because the mother/son dance is really important to my Fiance, I’m ucking it up and dancing with my dad too, just so that it’s not awkward. I certainly don’t want anything mushy and I’d like it to be as short as possible. Any thoughts? thanks!

I don’t know if it is too mushy but I am dancing with my stepdad to Keep in Mind by the Lo Cash Cowboys.
Our runner up was “My Girl” by the Temptations.
