Hi bees, I need some advice.
I’m getting married at the end of September (only been engaged since March so not had long to plan!). Everything is going well, I have my dress, but I desperately need shoes and I have no idea where to look. I live in the UK and I have size 9 feet (11 US) which is pretty big over here and makes it hard for me to find shoes that fit, specially as I need wide fitting shoes too. Aswell as all this I need something with a fairly low heel as I have flat feet which has damaged my knees so wearing a serious heel to any parties is now impossible as I can’t walk without pain by the end of the night and can barely make it up and down stairs for a few days afterwards.
As the budget is tight I can’t afford anything too expensive but want something nice (not old fashioned or frumpy) that will match my dress which is ivory, and I’ll be comfortable in all day. I don’t want to have to change my shoes halfway through the day so need extra comfort. I can get pads fitted to help my arch if needed so just need to find something to put them in!
I have family in New Jersey,US who would be willing to go pick stuff up for me or order over there if I need them to, and for the right shop with recommedations I’m willing to buy online, but just have no idea where to look! Anyone had any similar problems and know where is good to look? It’s so important to find the right shoes cos I don’t want it to ruin my day and cause me any pain.
Can anyone help? Thanks bees 🙂

Are you set on having a low heel, or would you consider flats? I wore them on my wedding day and loved them. They were so comfortable and I didn’t have to worry about switching shoes, tripping, or having sore feet half way through the night. Here’s the pair I wore:
So just a low heel or open to flats? Looking for all white, or a different color? Closed or open toed? And what budge range are you thinking? The more details the more we can help suggest some possible choices! 🙂

@tjk86: If you’re a size 11, that’s actually great news! You can find a lot of shoes on sale in your size from places like Nordstrom Rack, Macy’s, TJ Maxx, and DSW. It’ll take some legwork to find the right shoes, but if you have someone willing to do that for you, you’ll be able to find a great deal!

@tjk86: Is your dress long or will your shoes show the whole day? I’m not sure what style you’re looking for but I wear the same size as you & am about 1/2″ taller than my husband (bare-footed) so I was pretty much in the same boat. My dress was floor length & hid my feet so I ended up going with these sandals from Payless:

@bdockery: Wow they look so comfy!
I’m pretty sure I’d like a heel as I wear flats everyday and want something a little more special, also I feel like I have a slightly sexier walk in heels!
Definitely all white or ivory, open toed, and no lace. I think something fairly plain (I love the satin covered look) maybe with a little bling on the front. I know nothing about shoe budgets generally as I rarely buy any, but I think no more than £50 (I think thats around $70-$80, at least the exchange rate is in my favour!)

@Shanna777: My dress is full length but the way it’s cut you’ll still be able to see my shoes otherwise it would be so much easier! Unfortunately Enlgand is likely to be too cold for sandals so wouldn’t want to risk it!

@tjk86: Didn’t even think about the weather!! If you like the satin look, you could always go with a dyeable style and leave it white… http://www.davidsbridal.com/Browse_Accessories-Shoes-Dyeable-Shoes

@tjk86: hi. you can look at transgender shoe websites. There are fabulous flats and heels for those with a larger shoes size.
hope this helps

Have you tried New Look? They go up to a size 9 online, I have tiny feet but really wide and had a nightmare finding shoes for my wedding, I find that New Look Wide Fit are great and I can even go down a shoe size because the width is realistic, and they do all different heel heights
Also Irregular choice shoes come up wide, I have a pair myself, and they go up to a size 10
Know of a few brides that have worn these ones for their wedding day
Also Next go up to a size 9 in wide fit too on their occasion shoes, all fairly reasonably priced, keep an eye out for sales too, I got mine reduced down to £25 in the end, hope you find some, I know what a pain it is

@applecore: You got there before me!
Seriously OP, IRREGULAR CHOICE. They are the schizzle, and they come in width and a half sizes as standard.
Failing that, New Look do a new, special, wide fit range which are quite nice. They go up to your size.

Can’t believe no one’s mentioned Shoes of Prey! they do sizes even bigger than yours, you can choose your own heel height and design your own shoe to whatever sort of front, back, decoration, colour, fabric you want 🙂 I’m doing it because I have short wide feet and I’m forever buying shoes I can’t wear again – I want my wedding shoes to be comfy! I apologise for constantly mentioning them but I feel like they’re going to be my fairy godmother… and I can’t believe I hadn’t heard of them before now 🙂
I’m planning something similar to this, but a wedge – and pink lining!.

Okay thanks for all the details. Here are just a few that I found while searching around a bit:
These are from Famous Footwear. A pretty big shoe company here in Michigan. Not sure how widespread they are, but if you order online it is a legit company.
Famous Footwear – $57.99. This style is more of a wedge, how do you feel about wedges? http://www.famousfootwear.com/en-US/Product/15859-5108252/Touch+Ups+by+Benjamin+Walk/White/Womens+Honey.aspx
Other than there I had a little trouble finding low heel plus peep toe. However, I’m sure there are tons more options out there just might take some digging around!
