You're getting married on my birthday!! :)
Do what you want, if that's the date you want them tell them that. You're giving them tons of notice so they have plenty of time to prepare.
I did the same thing - shower and bachelorette in the same weekend - it was the best day ever!!!
With that said, I think you should be in touch with the ladies you'll be inviting to the events and say just what you said to us. Just be honest with them and hope that they will be honest with you. If everyone, or most everyone besides yourself, really is located there - I dont think that taking away the Saturday before Easter is a very big deal.

I am an April 24, 2010 bride that is getting married in Michigan but live in Georgia. All of my family and friends are asking me to decide what date I would like to have my Bridal Shower and Bachelorette Party. The parties will be the same day because it is sooo difficult (and not to mention expensive) to fly back and forth all the time.
When looking at the calender, the weekend of easter (April 4th) looks like a good weekend because I would get an extra day off work with Good Friday, plus it would be nice to spend the holiday with family and friends. My concern is that I am asking my family and friends to give up their Saturday of a holiday weekend. What do you think? Am I over-thinking the situation? HELP!!!! Thank you fellow brides!!! :o)
