I am going for the same look you are (but with blue water beads)!! I haven’t created the Poms yet, but have been pondering the same thing.  The only thing I’ve seemed to find (for that small of an opening) is using a straight lawn stake – or basically anything long & skinny that you could wedge into the bottom of the styrofoam Pom and run it down the center of the vase. I obviously have not tried this out yet… so my initial concern is that that rod would be visible even though it’s surrounded by the beads or pearls… and the light may or may not run the whole length of the vase.

What type of LED light are you using? Is it at the bottom or top of the vase?  That plays a factor in how you can fix the Pom to the vase.

Also… if you own the vases… you can simply glue the Pom to the vase.  Our reception hall is providing the vases, so I can’t attach anything. 🙁  But that’s an option.

Hopefully I’ve given you some more thoughts about it… but I’m hoping someone else posts the Perfect Solution for you!  Good luck!!  🙂

If you plan ahead, you can press the styrofoam ball down onto the vase before you cover it and leave this indent visible. It can be deep enough to stabilize the ball on its’ own, or you can use florists clay or glue the ball down. Usually it’s not hard to get off if you use white glue, and it washes off the vases.

if you use styrofoam you can press dowel rods into the bottom and place down in vase..if you have a darker vase you wont see it and if you have a clear vase you can cover it using beads.
