Can't help with the original desiger but I think it's a gorgeous dress regardless of what the original looks like.
One way to find out if it really is a picture of their dress, ask to see more pictures such as the back and a closeup of the lace on the hem. If they can't supply these pictures than stear clear of them.
i loved that dress so much i ALMOST bought it on eBay, too!!! haha.... i wanted it as my rehearsal dress, but i ended up going with a tulle poof fluff bridesmaid dress, instead.... i was sad i couldn't figure out the original designer, either.... :( sorry i can't be of help, but i'm sure it'll be lovely if you get it! the second picture on that listing looks like their actual version of it?(and if it is, it looks pretty good if you change out the sash!) the listing i had looked at only had the first picture...
That looks like a decidedly non-pro picture, so more pictures won't confirm anything - they clearly have a physical dress in their possession, whether it is replica or not. Read up on the reviews and then go for it, if you feel comfortable!

Hi everyone,
I'm currently looking for a get away dress, but don't want to spend more than $200. I saw this dress on ebay and completely love it: http://www.ebay.com/itm/170752107110?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l264
I am however, weary of china replicated dresses since I find them to never be nearly as nice as I would like them to be. I contacted the sellar and asked him/her whether the picture of the dress is the actual dress that they produced or whether it is a picture of a dress that they will reproduce and he/she claims that the pictured dress is of their doing, but I don't know if i should believe him/her. So I wanted to see if any of you might know the origins/designer of this dress so that I can compare it to the original if possible.
