So my wedding is in 2 months, and we’re kinda confused about the seating chart for our reception.
Our reception is gonna be hors d’eouvres and cocktail party, so I was thinking about having 2 round tables with chairs for families, and the rest is gonna be cocktail tables (will set them randomly in the ballroom) and chairs for our guests (around the ballroom).
We will set the tables for the food randomly as well.
What do you guys think? Any idea?
Please let me know if you have ideas for the seating and table or if you’ve ever experienced Hors d’eouvres reception before. 🙂
Thanks a lot!!

We’re also doing a cocktail reception. What we’re doing is having a head table with seating and a table for our family with seating. There is a also a small lounge area with 3 couches. Other than that we will have 5 high top tables with no chairs and a full bar with no chairs for mingling around and setting drinks down. If you really wanted the extra chairs I would just have them lining the ballroom rather than at the tables. The idea of a cocktail reception is to keep people moving around and mingling and having chairs at all the tables will really prevent that. As long as guests with an absolute need to sit can sit you should be good to go! Good luck!
