    Hello!

My fiance and I had this idea of putting homemade lanterns in a tree at our wedding site. Much to our dismay, while we were at the site (which we love and have already paid for) we discovered that you cannot decorate or hang anything in the trees. I have an alternative idea of where we can get married on the site, but my fiance looked so sad when we found out we couldn't do what we wanted. This is the tree that he likes that has a natural arch:

(The higher arch is what he likes, tree arches twice. Small arch is shorter than us. Yes, that's a lake in the background!)

What should we do? Just have the aisle go to the trees and just decorate the aisle with lanterns on both sides? Is the tree too plain not decorated?

    Your help is greatly appreciated.

I think the tree looks beautiful on its own! I'm not sure what kind of tree it is but I love that soft looking "flowery moss" that is hanging from it. I'm sure they are jsut trying to protect their tree from getting damaged, and I don't blame them. I think lanterns down the aisle would be beautiful! If you really want lanters around you or closer to the tree, maybe you should consider using various length shepherds hooks?

Although the pics of trees with streamers, lanterns etc are beautiful, I think the tree is beautiful on its own. Hanging things from the branches would likely ruin the moss after only a few events.

Do what you like for the aisle decor and the focal point will definitely be the two of you under the tree.

Live oak trees (yup, that's the name of the tree--live oak) with Spanish moss are one of my favorite things about living in the south.  They're so romantic!  I don't think you need to decorate that.
