Hey bees, I know I’ve posted on here about a bajillion times about my honeymoon. I’ve honestly been researching for like two months now and I feel like I’m going in circles. My FI is NO help with this, mostly because he’s been working crazy hours and when he’s home from work he’s too tired to really pay attention when I bombard him with questions and info on our HM options.
All along I really wanted to do something different for our HM, like Europe (never been) or Hawaii (never been) but FI is adamant about going to an all inclusive where we don’t have to think/plan and can just relax. Ok, fine, sounds good to me. I love the beach so no problem there. So I started looking at other islands that we’ve never been to, that have an AI — ANtigua, St. Lucia, Jamaica, etc (we’ve been to DR and Riviera Maya). Keep in min d our HM is the first week of september (yes, we’re getting trip insurance).
But, it just seemed that most of those other islands (st lucia and antigua in particular) have much higher priced AIs that don’t really offer all the amenities compared to mexico or jamaica, for example. So, i focused my search on riviera and jamaica instead, and found some great resorts (excellence, couples, secrets) that have the luxury FI wants (24/7 room service, jacuzzi in room, lots of restaurant choices).
And just in the past few days the prices went up on these resorts by a few hundred! Originally i wanted to spend between $3 – $3,500 and now it’s looking like $4,000 for these resorts (secrets maroma or secrets wild orchid, or excellence riviera maya).
I’m just worried that my indecisiveness and obsessiveness to research EVEYTHING and write out pros and cons, is going to cost me. I could probably keep searching for the better deal, the btter hotel (and keep looking at those other islands), for a few more weeks, but I’m afraid prices will just go up and I’ll drive my FI crazy. But, I’m worried about making a quick decision and regretting it.
Advice? Should I just BOOK something already and be happy?! Or, do you think there are other hotels/islands I should be considering that would be in my price range?
Sorry for the ramble.
