My mom is also looking for the same thing, but we just started looking yesterday! If I find anything I'll try to remember to post here!
Have you checked local dept stores? Try on various styles before you decide. It doesn't have to be a traditional mother of the bride dress as long as she looks great in it and it fits the formality of your wedding. If it is still too long, you can get it altered at an alterations shop in your area.
JADE makes Petite dresses, as does AVANTI. They have some beauties...check em' out!

My mom bought a humble dress to suit what she thinks a mother should wear for a wedding early on soon after I got engaged . My FMIL recently bought her dress and it is a very flashy, stylish and formal evening gown so now my mom is feeling her dress is not good enough for the wedding. She now wants me to help her find a full length evening gown. She's very petite (under 5') and I am not sure where to start! What are some of the designers that carry long gowns for petite women? Should I go through bridal stores or department stores?
Any brides with petite mothers who are wearing full length dresses please share pictures!!
