dalia88 :  I have seldom been so happy for being mistaken.  Good for you, bee!

Good of luck on your new path!

dalia88 :  Glad to hear you’re keping busy. I would not fault you one bit for giving that guy your number. Why the hell not?

dalia88 :

Awww bee, give yourself time to cry. How did you respond to the guy who has your number? If you’re not ready, say just that. “I just got out of a relationship and I’m not ready to date yet”.

calliekalico2 :  I just don’t think it’s necessarily good for her, she only left her live in BF a few days ago, most of her stuff is still in their home.  Being totally single for a full week wouldn’t hurt.

She is single. She wasn’t married to that cat and he apparently felt it was fine to go out with someone WHILE THEY WERE STILL TOGETHER. Why shouldn’t she? There is no prescribed mourning period for assholes.

abouttodoit17 :  Alright Mary. OP can do whatever she wants. If she wants to go out on a date, she can go out on a freaking date. If all she feels like doing is sitting at home, let her sit at home. Everyone moves on differently.

Personally if it were me, I’d wallow with some ice cream for a few days and then distract myself by meeting new people. Never know who you’ll find!

Please don’t lose hope. I was 30 and starting over – played the numbers game on the dating apps, while working out and getting into the best shape of my life, and found SO on the eve of turning 31! We will be engaged in a week or two, married a month or two before I turn 33.

Focus on how amazing you are, get yourself into a good headspace, re-learn how to love yourself. You’ll meet someone so much better than your slimy ex, and laugh at yourself for ever having doubted your future.

And thanks for the update – glad to hear you’re *mostly* doing well. The dreams are to be expected and will fade over time.
